Authorities in Phoenix, Arizona and the Fraternity of St. Peter report that a Priest of the Fraternity died this morning in hospital and another was being treated of serious injuries after police were called to investigate a burglary at Mater Misericordiae parish, only blocks from the State Capitol.
Rev. Fr. Kenneth Walker died of gunshot wounds early this morning.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Terra is in critical but stable condition.
Father Walker, aged 29, had only recently celebrated the second anniversary of his ordination to the sacred Priesthood.
Father Terra is 56 years old, according to reports.
Read about Father Walker and the incidents on the Rorate Caeli blog, and on the website of a local newspaper.
In your charity, please, pray for the eternal memory of Father Kenneth!
Also for the consolation of his family — parents, siblings, and all: asking Our Lady, Mother of Mercy, to entreat her divine Son to deal mercifully, generously, with them in their grief.
Please, by prayers to the Blessed and all-Immaculate Virgin Mary, also commend to Christ the recovery of Father Terra.
Let us also pray for their parishioners, the members of the Fraternity of Saint Peter, and all who are affected by this ordeal. As well as for the law enforcement officers, that they accomplish justice according to God’s will.
And finally for the criminals. That they repent, convert and attain salvation on this earth in order that they be spared eternal damnation by the mercy of Christ-God.
