Thanks to bishops worldwide, almost to the man (a term used here lightly), images of clergy praying alone what was once Liturgical — viz., public prayer of the Church — are now ‘live-streamed’ to the faithful on earth, who remain otherwise ‘virtually’ locked-out of the sacred places.

One day in late-March 2005 a simple telephone call to the Holy See’s Secretariat of State — headquarters of the Vatican’s ‘international diplomatic corps’ — received a terse reply, here paraphrased: if it can be done in accordance with international law, we’ll see what can be done.
